The double-cave type Pyathadar Gyi pagoda is situated to the southeast of Sulamani temple. It is one of the most massive monuments in Bagan, with the fine work of stucco. At the east of the pagoda is a prayer hall, with the doubled spire-arch at the top. There is a niche on the platform of the upper terrace. It was assumed that this pagoda was not built completely. However, the upturned lotus, inverted lotus and festoon of the pagoda found during the renovation work in 1998 prove that it was completed to its spire part.
